It has received the attetio of scholars, the attetio of others, ad great fame, ad its fame has spread sice it was writte, that is, the seveth cetury – because of the beautiful meaigs it cotais, sweet words, overwhelmig love, ad sicere emotio.

The reaso for the poem developmet was that its author, Al-Busiri, was afflicted with paralysis, which paralyzed half of his body ad cofied him to bed. He was astoished to compose a poem praisig the Chose Oe, beggig ad itercedig for him to God, so he wrote this poem o his bed.
