Pure dust for Tayammum:
Oe of the distictive features of the Ummah of Muhammad is that the earth has bee made a meas of attaiig purity (Saheeh Muslim 523, Sua Abi Dawood 489). I other words, if oe is ot able to use water for the purpose of purificatio, oe is permitted to wipe parts of the body with clea earth or sad. This is called Tayammum.
Coditios for validity of Tayammum:
1. The itetio to attai purity or to perform salaah.
2. To search for water if there is hope i obtaiig it.
3. Uable to use water.
4. To perform Tayammum o clea sad or aythig which falls uder the term “earth”.
5. Not leave the space of eve a hair uwiped.
6. To utilize at least three figers durig Masah.
The method of Tayammum:
1. Make the itetio to attai purity or to perform salaah.
2. Strike the earth while keepig the figers apart.
3. Oce o the groud, move the hads forward ad the backward.
4. Shake the dust off the hads.
5. Wipe both hads over the etire face.
6. Strike the hads o the groud ad move them forward ad backward as before.
7. Wipe the right arm with the left had, upto ad icludig the elbow.
8. Wipe the left arm with the right had, upto ad icludig the elbow.
